Keep contact and share your ISWI moment
|
Dear friends of ISWI
First of all we want to thank all sponsors, lecturers, artists/ musicians, participants, groupleaders, hosts and helpers for helping us to organize an amazing ISWI 2009.
A few weeks ago we all learned and experienced a lot of different things in our discussions, or while listening to the lectures, visiting the cultural events or talking to the people we met. No matter if you have been a participant, a groupleader or a member of the Org-Team, we all have been exhausted and need some time to realize what has happened in the 10 days of ISWI.
After a few weeks of resting and realizing what has happened you maybe want to share your funny stories, opinions or every other experience with the friends you have made during ISWI or with the poor ones who couldn’t make it to ISWI or with the next participant generations. If so you will have the opportunity to write your own articles or comment on some articles of the others on our wiki ( http://wiki.iswi.org) after you have been registered. Writing is not your cup of tea but you take a lot of photos and videos? You have the possibility to share them by uploading them on our fan page on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/ISWI-eV-Inc-Society/6898121914). If you want to keep contact with ISWI and all friends of ISWI or you want to find someone you met you can become a friend – in the case of Facebook a fan – of ISWI on different social communities. A list of all the community web pages on which we have an account you will find on the following links:
Now, we are hoping that you will share your special moments with us and looking forward to meet some of you again in 2011.
All the best.
ISWI

DO IT NOW
|
I MAY NEVER SEE TOMORROW; THERE IS NO WRITTEN GUARANTEE
AND THINGS THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY BELONG TO HISTORY
I CANNOT PREDICT THE FUTURE, I CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST,
I HAVE THE PRESENT, I MUST TREAT IT AS MY LAST.
I MUST USE THIS MOMENT WISELY FOR IT SOON WILL PASS AWAY, AND BE LOST TO ME FOREVER AS PART OF YESTERDAY.
I MUST EXERCISE COMPASSION, HELP THE FALLEN TO THEIR FEET,
BE A FRIEND UNTU THE FRIENDLESS, MAKE AN EMPTY LIFE COMPLETE
THE UNKIND THINGS I DO TODAY MAY NEVER BE UNDONE,
AND FRIENDSHIPS THAT I FAIL TO WIN MAY NEVER MORE BE WON,
I MAY NOT HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE ON BENDED KNEES TO PRAY,
AND THANK GOD WITH A HUMBLE HEART FOR GIVING ME THIS DAY.
USE EACH DAY WELL AS IF IT WERE YOUR LAST

Be Breast Aware
About this category: Health
|
Most breast cancers are detected by women who report unusual changes to their GP. This highlights the importance of being breast aware.
Breast awareness means knowing what your breasts look and feel like normally, so you can be aware of any changes and check them out with your doctor as soon as possible. If cancer is diagnosed, prompt treatment offers the best chance of a successful outcome.
Touch your breasts. Feel for anything unusual.
Look for changes. Be aware of their shape and texture.
Check anything unusual with your GP. Chat with your friends if you are worried.
There is no need to follow a fancy routine for checking your breasts, just be familiar with how they look and feel so that you notice changes. You can do this by looking and feeling in any way that makes you feel comfortable - in the bath or shower, when dressing, standing or lying down. If you find anything unusual or are worried, you should talk to your GP
Changes to look out for include:
Size or shape - e.g. one breast might become larger or lower than the other.
Skin texture - such as puckering or dimpling of the skin.
Appearance or direction of nipple - e.g. one nipple might become inverted (turned-in).
Discharge - one or both nipples might discharge a blood-stained liquid
Rash or crusting of the nipple or surrounding area.
Lump in the breast or armpit.
Lumpy area or unusual thickening of breast tissue that doesn't go away after your period.
Pain in part of the breast or armpit that is unrelated to periods.
Remember that nine out of ten breast lumps are not cancerous.

World AIDS Day
About this event: Blog Action Day 2008 About this category: Health
|
Dec 01 is World AIDS Day
According to UNAIDS estimates, there are now 33.2 million people living with HIV, including 2.5 million children. During 2007 some 2.5 million people became newly infected with the virus. Around half of all people who become infected with HIV do so before they are 25 and are killed by AIDS before they are 35.
Around 95% of people with HIV/AIDS live in developing nations. But HIV today is a threat to men, women and children on all continents around the world.
Started on 1st December 1988, World AIDS Day is about raising money, increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education. World AIDS Day is important in reminding people that HIV has not gone away, and that there are many things still to be done
Lets Join hands to eradicate HIV/AIDS.................FULL STOP

FIGHT AGAINST HIV/AIDS
About this category: Peace & Conflict
|
U cant test your destiny cautiously. Dont play for safety. Its the most dangerous thing in the world (Hugh Walpole0. The key is this: forfeit the safety of what we could become. Unless u do something beyond what you have already done, u will never grow. Always pick an obstacle big enough to matter when you overcome it.

KNOW YOUR LIMITS THEN IGNORE THEM
|
There is no thrill in easy sailing when skies are blue,
There is no joy in merely doing things which any man can do.
But there issome satisfaction that is mighty sweet to take,
When you reach a destination that you thought you would never make.

Related to country: United States About this category: Culture
|
The nay sayers have spoken loud and clear we heard them but we never believed them not even for a second. Today the truth has seen the light.
A black man from kenya is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
This is somthing that needs not be crying about, but rather a time to hold hands and say ENOUGH.
May God bless all those who have learnt a lesson or two from this Obama effect.
